Hesitant about buying copper jewelry because it turns your skin green or black? I always was, too, but there is a simple trick to avoid this from happening. Break out your clear fingernail polish and apply a light coat onto the back of your copper jewelry. That's it! This creates a barrier between the copper and our skin. It is the moisture from our skin that causes a reaction to the copper that makes our skin turn color. Likewise, it is moisture in the air that tarnishes copper jewelry. If you would like your copper to not tarnish, store it in a plastic bag with a silicone packet when not wearing it. Easy enough!
Our copper earrings will not turn your earlobes black or green because for our ear wires, we use copper wire that has a clear enamel coating on it so it looks like bare copper wire but rest assured, it is not. It will never tarnish either. Win, win!
