Our leather is of the highest quality. We use only vegetable-tanned leather which is tanned without chemicals. Tanning is the process that turns cowhide into leather. There is also chromium-tanning which contains chemicals. There are pros and cons to each, but we prefer veg-tanned because of it being chemical free. Taking care of your Women's Brass and Copper Saturn Leather Bracelet is super easy - just store your bracelet in a plastic baggie when not wearing it. There is moisture in the air, and by storing your jewelry in a plastic bag greatly reduces the amount of moisture the bracelet is exposed to. It is the moisture in the air that causes the brass and copper components to tarnish (also known as oxidation). If your components become tarnished and you would like to restore them back to their original tarnish-free luster, you can use a product called Bar Keepers Friend Soft Cleanser. Squeeze a very small amount onto a soft cloth, rub it into the cloth and then gently rub your components with the cleanser. Next, dampen a small section of your cloth and rub off any cleanser left on the components. Repeat these steps if necessary. Take care to keep the cleanser from getting on the leather but if it does, wipe it off immediately.
